Well Blog, we are going on almost a year and nothing. Mostly because life has been crazy, and working 10, 12, sometimes 14 hour days doesn't leave you much time to do a whole lot else. Well we are hiring a new artist, and I think I am going to gather a bunch of art and designs that I have created, or at least organized over the past 10 or so months, and start posting.

This design is just a concept I am working on, and will be doing a bunch more for the tourist gift market, also I am working on some sports oriented Childrens books as well as Launching a clothing line called Legendary Apparel, though because of trademark reasons, we may have to switch the name up a bit, you can check out the line so far at www.legendary-apparel.com.

I am resurrecting an idea. As to me it has always been a pretty good idea, the issue ends up being the logistics of time, and getting the idea into the right peoples hands. This picture is of my friend Garret, and his girlfriend (kind of) He wanted me to do it for her birthday, and by doing this, it really put some more fuel for my idea. For some of you, you might already know my idea from previous tries, but I am going to kinda keep it on the down low, so as to not give someone else a similar idea, until I have had a jump start. Anyways, here is a fun caricature anyways.

So.... last time I updated, I was living in my childhood home of Kanab, which as far as living there it was awesome. As far as the job was concerned, it wasn't that cool. I wanted it to work soooo bad, but It just wasn't the job it was thought to be as far as creativity, and opportunity. I learned some awesome stuff from doing magazine layout, but as far as being the kind of artist I wanted to be, and having a boss as a micro manager it wasn't for me. I found another job, in my wife's dream city, which is only an hours drive from Kanab, in St. George, Utah. It's similar climate, but the elevation is a lot lower, so it is even more of a desert area. It is the largest city in Southern Utah, so we do have all the amenities that we didn't have in Kanab, and I have a great job as the Graphic Artist for the company Xtreme Graphix.

Currently I am the do all and everything artist from logos, to t-shirt design, to car vinyl wraps business cards and anything else design. Things have been really busy work wise, so I have been stressing about too much work, and still learning certain things like color separation for screen printing. So far we've figured it out. Hopefully, as times keep looking up I will become more of a designer, with hiring another person to help with the production and day to day artwork. I have some awesome design ideas, and my boss and I, are on the same page with a lot of ideas, so hopefully in the near future things will get better.

I'll start posting some of the stuff that I've done for my job. Well great talking with ya, and I'll update in another year probably.

Well I realized I haven't posted anything forever. I've been getting used to my new job, and working in the graphic design world. I am loving Kanab, but haven't been able to get out in nature too much besides a few hikes up the red cliffs around Kanab. Nichole is adjusting to her new jobs, as they aren't quite like managing a large apartment complex, but we're excited for the new start. Well I've been pretty busy, but really looking forward to putting more time into illustration and developing my style, and hopefully get an agent in the near future. I've been developing my style for years, but feel that I've started to focus in on what it is I really like to draw, and how to draw it. These are a few of my newest drawings, and will probably start adding some color to them. Let me know what you think, and what you don't. Thanks

Well I got back from my backpacking trip to Uinta's. I wasn't in too great of shape, and it kicked my butt, but I did it. It was fun, and other than the mosquitos and my feet hurting it was Awesome. Lot's of fun, and the pictures tell most of the story. Our friend Cody works for the Forest Service, and joined us for a night. Well that's about it.

Howdy, I have had this idea about doing Caricatures for people online. I found some pictures of some girls and did these Caricature/portraits. I'll keep toying with the idea, as I need to get my real website up and running to make it work. Then I have been doing some more illustrations trying to work on my style. So there are some more illustrations with that in mind.

We had to climb down through this rock to get down from the top.

This is my Aunt and Uncles house that we stayed at that night. It was really nice.

These are pictures of an old movie/tv set where they used to film the show Gunsmoke as well as other western movies. All the buildings were pretty functional, we used to be able to into them, but it's all fenced off now. After we had some lunch we drove out here, east of Kanab in a place called Johnson Canyon. Further up we saw this sign etched in the sandstone, as Johnson Canyon used to be the old Highway, so the sign was kind a like a billboard. The white cliffs are awesome they are part of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, you can see in a couple photos the HooDoo's of Bryce National park. ( A HooDoo is a large red sandstone spire)

This is my newest design for Del Sol. It is for the Alaskan stores who wanted a humorous Alaskan t-shirt, so this was my idea and design. This Artwork is copyrighted to Del Sol 2008.

Here are some of my designs that will be coming out in the new Sol Kids, and Cariloha stores in January. The first three stores of both brands will be in Cozumel, St. Thomas, and Jamaica. Sol Kids will start going into malls sometime next year. The Sol Kids designs along with the Del Sol designs are unique in the fact that they change color in the sun, so in designing them you have to design them to look good indoors and outdoors, so the Bonefish design and Tiger Shark design show you how it looks indoor and outdoor.

My Uncle is starting an ATV touring company in the southern Utah town of Kanab, (where I grew up). So I've designed the logo. The Shark is a design that I did for Del Sol. We decided to go a different route so I decided to post it.

Well a couple of weeks ago on Memorial Day Weekend, Nikki and I went down to Southern Utah to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, and to visit her family in the little town of Parowan, Utah. One of the mornings I got up early and hiked up above the town, and took some cool pictures. There is also an old Church from the early Mormon Settelers. One of thos Settelers was my Great, Great, Great, ( I think) Grandfather Priddy Meeks. The little Cabin was his and is still standing.

Hi, I haven't posted since I've been back in Utah. I have been really busy, looking for jobs, and working. I got a part time job working as a production airbrush artist for Alinco, they make mascots, and costumes. It is pretty fun. It's cool to work on Mascots, Alinco is the company that makes most of the mascots for the NBA, and some NFL, along with alot of colleges. I overheard an order come in from the Conan O'brien show, they were looking for a cat suit, or something.

Okay, I am getting into Caricature mode, they are one of the funnest things to do for me. I have found some some Caricaturist blogs, and they've inspired me to push my work even more. The top guy is a Caricature artist that put his picture on the web to have others caricature him. I'll have to find his site again, and then submit it to his gallery, and the bottom one is snoop dogg.

I love lifedrawing, I feel that class has helped me improve my drawing skills a ton, yesterday we were supposed to have lifedrawing with a model, but for some reason we didn't have a model booked, so we decided to draw eachother, and these 4 are portraits of classmates. They are each ten minute poses, I think the likenesses are pretty good, I think the 3rd picture of the girl kind of looks like and elf.

I am doing a concept art class here in Vancouver. Nick Tay one of the head art directors at EA games her in Vancouver is teaching the class. He is teaching us traditonal techniques that he uses to come up with his work. Well for our class we decided to redesign Alice in Wonderland. So my story that I came up with is that alice is a good Mormon girl, ( yes, I am from utah). On her wedding night dreams of this crazy place where people are trying to tell her that she is missing out on all this fun in the world. So my wonderland is going to based on a Las Vegas type place. So because of that, the characters are going to be Las Vegas stereotyped people. So this is the Mad Hatter as a pimp. A Very crazy pimp, as you can see.

I am still trying to learn how to paint in photoshop. This is a sketch of a King from my sketchbook. I then tried to paint it in photoshop. The King is happy because, well, he is King.
